In 1967, Julius Akman opened a unique neighborhood grocery store in the beautiful, new Grosvenor Park apartment complex. His vision was simple: offer outstanding quality at reasonable prices in a convenient, friendly setting. Today, our vision remains the same. The Grosvenor Market offers a one-of-a-kind shopping experience to our customers. From the moment you walk in, you are welcomed as a friend and treated to the type of service you rarely see anymore. From our onsite butchers who will cut your meat to order, to our complimentary carryout service, from our seasonal array of produce fresh from the farm, to our extensive beer and wine selection. The Grosvenor Market is the complete, unique supermarket. You can find everything you need and so much more than you expect. Our deli prepares dozens of fresh options daily and makes the best sandwiches in town.
Our customers are our neighbors and our friends. Scot Shuck, store owner, has worked here for over 40 years and knows most of his customers by name. If there is an item you don’t see in the store, please ask us to order it for you. We want you to find everything you need here. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff is available to help you select whatever you are looking for.
Along with the conventional items that every grocery store needs to carry, we strive to stock as many local products as we can. We are fortunate to have some truly exceptional purveyors’ right in our backyard. Local is often so much better and we want to support our neighbors! If you have any local items that you love, please let us know. We will try to add them to our ever-expanding selection of local product.
We are always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint and protect our environment.
Through our association with Electric Advisors, The Grosvenor Market purchases 100% wind energy to promote green energy and reduce carbon emissions.
The Grosvenor Market has been recognized through a “Business Outstanding Achievement in Recycling” from Montgomery County, Maryland. This is the highest honor a business can receive recognizing our recycling efforts.
We are also involved with "Adopt a Road" activity trying to keep our neighborhood roads clean!
